TV Flipped: NBC’s New Fall Shows

After reading about the new shows coming to NBC this fall, there was only one new show that really caught my eye, The Cape. After watching all the trailers for the new shows, it really is the only new show on NBC that I really want to see.

“The Cape” is a one-hour drama series starring David Lyons (“ER”) as Vince Faraday, an honest cop on a corrupt police force, who finds himself framed for a series of murders and presumed dead. He is forced into hiding, leaving behind his wife, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin, “Life on Mars”) and son, Trip (Ryan Wynott, “Flash Forward”). Fueled by a desire to reunite with his family and to battle the criminal forces that have overtaken Palm City, Vince Faraday becomes “The Cape” – his son’s favorite comic book superhero – and takes the law into his own hands.

But The Cape isn’t on the schedule when the fall season begins, it won’t be here till midseason. What else is there? The Event looks like it could be good, but will it last past one season. This seasons conspiracy thriller FlashForward didn’t. The Undercovers looks like Mr & Mrs Smith. How did that show do? Did it even make it to TV? Outsourced got the most laughs out of me, but it is stupid funny. A show I would only watch if there was absolutely nothing else on. The Chase looks ok, maybe I’ll catch that one on Hulu. There are two shows about lawyers, Outlaw and Harry’s Law. Anyone else sick of law shows? Then you have three shows that look very similar except one is aimed at chicks Love Bites, another at dicks, Friends with Benefits and another at couples Perfect Couples. At least I will be able to see my favorite actress Jennifer Love Hewitt on TV at least once this season. She has a guest spot on Love Bites.

At least they renewed my favorite show, Chuck, for another season.

More show previews after the jump.

The Cape looks very interesting. They are going all out superhero, something that Heroes really avoided. I’m going to watch it when it finally arrives. I hope the fact that it’s airing midseason doesn’t make it DOA.
